1. The primary purpose of our Catholic School is to work in conjunction with the parent to foster the teaching, doctrine, and practice of Catholicism. Parents must agree to accept the commitment and responsibility of actively providing these teachings and practices for their child outside the school.
2. Non-Catholic students are required to actively participate in religion classes, religious celebrations, and liturgies while attending St. Mark.
3. Students must have displayed successful academic growth and appropriate behavior in previous school experiences. Applicants must submit a copy of the most recent report card, a copy of the most recent standardized test results, and any recent evaluations/progress reports (as applicable). Admissions screening may apply.
4. A major factor in the success of our school is the support and loyalty of our students and parents. All students and their parents must jointly agree to abide by the following: Diocesan and Local School Policies, Administrative Policies and Regulations, School Rules, and Classroom Rules.
5. Students entering must meet the following age requirements:
-PK3: Child must be 3 on or before September 1st
-PK4: Child must be 4 on or before September 1st
-Transitional Kindergarten: Generally for children who turn 5 between May and October
-Kindergarten: Child must be 5 on or before September 1st
-1st Grade: Child must be 6 on or before September 1st
6. Order of Admission Priority
-Currently enrolled students in good standing
-Siblings of currently enrolled students
-Children of St. Mark Catholic School alumni
-Families(1) who qualify as Parishioner(2)
-Children relocating from an out-of-area Catholic school
-Non-parishioners
-Late applicants
The Catholic schools of the Diocese of Dallas admit students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. They do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic and other school administered programs.
According to the policy of the Diocese of Dallas, the school reserves the right to screen all students. The final decision for admission is the responsibility of the school's chief administrator or designee.
