5th grade students participate in The Pines' Environmental Education program which covers principles of religion, science, math, language, and history, and is designed to enrich and enhance the current classroom curriculum through teaching in an outdoor classroom setting. Activity areas include forestry, archaeology, limnology, meteorology, entomology, and orienteering. The teachings of the Church, saint stories, and scripture study are integrated to enhance the knowledge of the students and open eyes to see how God is at work in our environment.
Students in 8th grade participate in The Pines Leadership Retreat which is designed to shape young people to see their role in the Church.They come to know Jesus in a deeper way through experiential learning and the witness of the missionaries at The Pines, and they learn that we are being called to be servant leaders as Jesus was.
